Vic: Man dies after car hits pole

A 17-year-old is dead after the car he was in crashed into a pole in western Victoria last night.

Police say the male driver escaped with minor injuries and another male passenger suffered
serious injuries in the accident in Pope Street, Hamilton, about 10.25pm (AEDT).

Police are expected to interview the driver at a later date.

Victoria's road toll now stands at 314 for the year, compared to 369 at the same time last year.
